According to McKinsey & Company, the Internet sector will create 450 000 new jobs in the next 4 years in France (mainly in web services and related jobs). During the last 15 years, the web industry has created 750 000 jobs. So, in 4 years, employment in the sector will double. Web jobs will generate 129 billion Euro in revenues which represents 5,5 % of the internal GDP (in France). In 2010, web generated revenues were estimated at 72 billion Euros.
This shows the importance of adequate traning and VET supportive of the development of this job-intensive market.
