What is the US doing to prepare its citizens in the field of Internet skills?

A new Commerce Department website to give schools, libraries and job training centers the tools to help teach computer and Internet skills to US Americans who are new to the net.

The site is called digitalliteracy.gov and it offers links to everything from basic web surfing tips and online banking tutorials to resume-building services and resources on combatting cyberbullying.

The site itself is user-friendly. The tabs on the homepage break down the online tools into sections. Learn the basics, learn job skills and browse their available resources.

The launch of digitalliteracy.gov is part of an Obama administration push to ensure that all US Americans have access to high-speed internet connections and the skills needed to use them to compete in today's digital economy.
